Building a culture of respect for natural resources since 2011.
Tree Public Foundation is a registered NGO, with its Head Office in Pune with a mission to shape a culture of respect for natural resources, by replenishing the available land with maximum green canopy.
The idea behind the organization has been an outcome of 16 years of continuous and rigorous research on ground facts and figures, which has led us to become a part of the solution to enormous environmental challenges.
Our core focus is on delivering measurable environmental and climate impact through integrated, science- based initiatives. Our core areas include mitigating the Urban Heat Island (UHI) Effect through large-scale native tree plantation and afforestation, supported by scientific planning and long-term tree maintenance to ensure high survival rate and ecological sustainability. We undertake water conservation through the creation and restoration of scientifically designed lakes and water bodies, while developing thriving aquatic ecosystems that enhance groundwater recharge. To date, we have created and restored 15+ lakes with a combined water holding capacity of over 02+ crore litres, significantly improving local water security and ecosystem resilience. Our initiatives also emphasize biodiversity habitat creation, including the conservation of 50 bird species by restoring native habitats. Through environmental education, environmental theatre festivals, citizen participation, and volunteer engagement programs, we empower communities to become active partners in ecological restoration.
To plant 1,00,000 native trees annually across urban, semi-urban, and rural landscapes, transforming available large land areas into self-sustaining, biodiverse ecosystems with maximum green canopy; creating and restoring 10+ scientifically planned water bodies capable of conserving and recharging over 2+ crore litres of groundwater while enhancing biodiversity along with mitigating the Urban Heat Island Effect.
To rebuild natural ecosystems through scientific inputs like soil analysis, baseline studies, contour mapping, hydrogeological analysis, and the selection of native and indigenous tree species, creating oxygen-rich, self-sustaining biodiversity habitats that deliver long-term ecological and climate benefits.
